In his various roles as photographer, publisher and filmmaker Rankin has become one of the leading chroniclers and taste-makers of 21st century Britain. He brings a mischievous wit to whatever he does, and including his intimate portraits, distinctive fashion and commercial work and groundbreaking art projects.
From founding Dazed & Confused with Jefferson Hack while both were still a university, to directing cheeky ads for Rimmel and supermodel Elle MacPherson's lingerie range, to shooting the Queen for her Golden Jubilee he has been a cultural bellwether both recording and inspiring trends.
Recent work ranges from the much discussed Dove advertising campaign featuring real, curvy women to portraits of Tony Blair for the Financial Times. He is currently working on his first feature film.
